NTV - Drone Technology Is Becoming Widespread in Agriculture

Drone technology is becoming increasingly widespread in agricultural fields. Drones are used most for spraying farmland. One drone can spray 20 decares of land in 10 minutes. This means savings in both time and chemicals. On the other hand, the prices of the devices are eye-watering.

Drone technology, which has begun to be used in many areas of life, is also becoming widespread in agriculture.

The drones introduced at the Bursa Agriculture and Livestock Fair are attracting the interest of farmers who want to farm with technology.

Drones that can carry from 10 liters up to 30 liters of chemicals are preferred by farmers who want to save time and save on chemicals.

A drone carrying 20 liters of chemicals sprays 20 decares of land in as little as 10 minutes.

Company representative Berkay Dağlı said they continue the farming profession of their fathers, adding: “To move toward technology in farming, we became the distributor of agricultural drones and brought them to Turkey. We have been using them on our own land for about 2 years. These devices save close to 30 percent on chemicals" he said.

Noting that they had also eliminated wheel track losses on the land, Dağlı said: "A drone carrying 20 liters of chemicals sprays 20 decares of land in 10 minutes. When a farmer does this with a tractor, the maximum area a sprayer can cover with 800 liters of chemicals is 40 decares."

Dağlı said: "If we talk about time savings, the filling time of an 800-liter spraying machine is between 35 and 40 minutes. While the farmer waits to fill the sprayer, this drone can spray the 40 decares he would have sprayed in that time."

Dağlı said: "Where we would spray with a tractor, we spray with a drone, so we also save on labor and fuel. To spray in the field with a tractor, a separate vehicle was needed to carry the chemicals to the tractor, but thanks to the drone, that is no longer necessary.”

Stressing that this season they made sales to Balıkesir and neighboring provinces as well as the Thrace region, Dağlı said: “People are satisfied. Those who buy can also provide services to others. We think the devices will become even more widespread. Our request to those who use them is not to fly them in windy weather"

Saying that tractors belong to the old generation, Dağlı said: "Our farmers who do not use the new-generation autonomous setup struggle to spray. The drone does everything by itself. Our farmer can spray while sitting in the shade. Drone prices range from 24 thousand to 35 thousand dollars."
